OMG!!! I know I have been video CRAZY this week, but you have to see this! How on earth did the horse fit in this little hole!
PHOENIX, AZ — Emergency crews rescued a horse from a crevice in Pinal County shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday, authorities said
The horse and rider were walking when the ground collapsed under them near Arizona Farms and Felix Road, authorities said. The horse’s rider sustained “significant injuries,” according to an e-mail from Pinal County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tami Villar.Arizona Pipeline and Mesa Gas helped with backhoes to help get the mare out, Villar said. The horse was sedated and given pain medication, and she’ll be OK, Villar said. The vet who treated the horse at the scene said the mare will have areas of swelling and soreness and some abrasions, but there were no serious injuries.Contrary to previous reports, the mare did not fall into a fissure; rather, it was a cave-in from an abandoned septic system, Villar said. The weight of the horse and rider caused the collapse.
It turned out that the horse is fine after this little adventure. I cannot imagine what it would have been like to be riding one minute and then bam, you are sunk into the ground. So scary! The video is crazy though when all you can see is the horses head and then the get it to walk out. Amazing!
