I had so much fun today going with the barn to the Oldenburg inspection. We even came home with a foal who has the distinction of being a premium! We also had another who got pulled back for the premium inspection, but who didn’t get the honor. I cannot even tell you how fun the day was. This inspection was sponsored by Summit Sport Horses and they did a great job! It was amazing to see so many beautiful babies. It made me want to breed a mare and get my own baby! Because you all know that I really need another horse right
So I will give you a full report soon, but having so much fun really made me tired.
I will leave you with a video that will make you laugh. One thing that was amazing to see was how well behaved the babies were. The worst behaved horse of the day came from us. Pik C’s Mom just lost it during the premium call back back of the inspection. I have NO CLUE what set her off. The girl handling her thinks it might have been the chain under her chin. I have NEVER seen her behave so badly so maybe it was. Look at what a good filly Pik C is! She really is trying so hard to be good even with her Mom carrying on. And sorry about the camera shaking sometimes…I was trying VERY hard to hold my laughter in. I know that all the other horse handlers in the class were ready to kill Pik C’s Mom and her Owner (and I would have been too had I been in their shoes) but I couldn’t help but see the humor in the whole thing. So enjoy what I am sure will become my very first viral video…I have a feeling after watching this you all are going to want to share!

It must be something in the air – my sweet little Nico bucked me off Tuesday from a gallop. Not even kidding. I have never been bucked off and Nico has never thrown a signficant buck. This actually involved his head between his knees after a giant leap in the air. Ugh. At least nobody was RIDING the mare in your video
I’ve had some many of those moments…. so many…
Looks like they handled it well. Could have been worse. I think sympathy would have been the more common emotion than “ready to kill.’ Good horsemen are often kind.
