I want to start with the disclaimer that some of the names in this journal have been changed, but only for the protection of the people involved.
I have just taken a big step. I have agreed to half-lease a horse. I must admit that I am terribly excited but also a touch nervous. To be fair I have a good reason to be nervous. I will fill you all in on why at a later date. To start with I just want to tell you a little bit about myself and a little about the mare.
Me: I have been riding for…14 years I think it is by now. I have spent much of that time with a single trainer named Amy which is not very common in the horse world. I love dressage. I think it is a beautiful thing to watch. The problem with this is that I am terrible at riding it. I have been “having a go” at dressage for about 5 years now and in that time I just have not gotten much better. It is a rather heart breaking thing, to work hard and still not be successful. I am very good with horse care, but the riding part just does not come easily to me. I am also just getting back into the world or riding after several months off after breaking my finger. I am starting this blog as a good way to keep in touch with the mare’s owner and also to document my journey back into the world of riding horses.
Mare: She will be called the Little Handful from now on in the blog. She is a 14 year old Arabian/Cross mare who is black and absolutely adorable. She was in dressage training for 5 years but who took a sabbatical and then came back as a trail horse. She has no clue that I am going to try and bring her back to dressage form. Hopefully she will not protest too much. She is very sweet and seems to be an all-around good horse.
Join me on our year long journey.

whats your main objective , i am confused!
That is okay. My main objective is just to document my time and progress with the little handful. Stories of my own horse and my life around horses will pop up though because it is all inter mixed.
